Her
You called yourself a burden, but I used to call you the love of my life.
You called yourself unlikeable, but I used to tell you that you were everything I ever wanted, in the beginning at least.
You called yourself lonely, while I used to lie in your arms every night for weeks at a time.
You called yourself scared, depressed, useless, and unworthy, but I? All I ever did was make sure those were the last things on your mind.
But I guess we all fail once in a while.
Instead of her telling you that you aren't a burden, she tells you it's alright to go and smoke with your buds.
Instead of her saying you were everything she ever wanted, she says it's alright to not have a plan for the future.
It's alright to spend hundreds on video games.
It's alright to live and cheat like you've always wanted.
It's alright, because her words have always meant more than mine, do they not?
Because of my failures, It's her.
It's her that you now say is the love of your life.
It's her that you act like you've always wanted.
It's her that lies with you in your now darkest times.
It's her,
and it's always been her.
The only difference between her and I, is that I will always care about your future, but I will never intrude on your happiness.
