Our Precious Gem
There once was a boy who was born on Christmas Day
No one knew just how much this would soon pay
For this day was was more than just a day
This boy was more than just a boy
His gift was more than just a ploy
Christmas was more than just about the toys,
For this boy knew why this day should be enjoyed
This boy had Christ within him
His joy was never dim
And he sang with great pride, the Christmas Day hymns
Never being grim,
he always made sure to thank God for making Jesus our Precious Gem,
Like the Star of David on the night he was brought in.
We should all be like the boy who never asked for toys,
Spending Christmas Day enjoying our Precious Gem.

This piece was inspired by keeping Christ in Christmas. So often we forget why we celebrate this joyus holiday. I wanted to remind those who have lost sight of Jesus during the holiday season.
