I know what I stand for
I stand for the broken teens
That hide the tears that fall like rain
The ones with despairing hope
The ones who hide the scars left behind
Scars that “scream for attention”
The ones who fight a duel with an invisible enemy
The ones who used drugs and alcohol to numb
It was always being better than feeling broken
The ones who feel like a million broken pieces-
Broken pieces from shattered glass
On a day to day basis
People see the smiles and good grades
Or they say
“She seems to be in a rut”
But they don’t really know what goes on
Little do they know
How much would change
With three little words
“Are you okay”
