A Plea for Serenity

Among the dark waters of a placid mind,

there come the visions of an incongruous sort.

Of unsettled sensations that beckon the awoken

to search for an explanation

they have not before seen.

To spend their hours feeling

disconnected, alienated,

from the inhabitants and

mundane patterns

that cease to include them.

From the depths of their mind

an apprehension clinging to every action,

every thought,

every breath

until this presage, in time,

reveals itself.

Inviting it into creation,

unknowingly experiencing it

in the flesh of yourself and your kin

brings pain, and

the attack of sorrow that

only leads to a useless regret,

to which nothing will prosper.

Every regret has a reason.

And this one?

Well…

this had its own misfortune,

for it did not allow

anyone

unless myself, of course,

to save him

from himself.
