Cleanse
twisting
my brain wrings out the murky water
which trickles down and pools at my jaw
wish washing
I tilt my head sideways and the water flows
like a roaring river
out of my ear and upon the floor
a puddle at my feet
I peer down upon
the corruption that once saturated my mind
I bid adieu

“Cleanse” describes the release of toxic thoughts built up in our minds. It is the process we execute in order to feel free from the negative mindsets we so often find ourselves trapped within. The mind is where we contemplate all our doubts, suspicions, and fears, which is why “Cleanse” begins with the twisting of the brain. When solving the world’s dilemmas, we must first establish clarity and refinement in our own heads.
