Autumn Loves
“Once upon a midnight dreary, while
I pondered weak and weary”
I thought about
“These dark days of autumn rain”
Mist rolling through the trees.
Warm fireplaces and cozy blankets
“The beauties [I] so truly see”
The colors, the crunch of the leaves,
Everything is beautiful.
I wish it could be like this
All the time.
Some may say it’s too cold,
It’s perfect.
The crisp air nipping at my nose
While I look at the cloudy skies
Brick houses with smoke coming
Out of the chimney,
Indicating that a fire is going
The best is the walks we can take
Watch the colors change.
Drink warm cider.
We can cuddle up close
And share a spice donut
It is truly
The most wonderful time
Of the year.
