Autumn
Bamboozled neighbors
As children dress up in delusional costumes,
Leaving others flabbergasted
In awe at their ability
Some appalled,
Leaving others as shocked as “the scream”
To disguise themselves.
Pumpkins as the santas of fall-
Big, round, and filled with surprises
Leaves fall, like the sun at dusk.
Skeletons and spiders found everywhere,
Both as long and skinny as fallen branches
Both as delicate as glass.
When we wake in the morning to 40 degree weather,
And retire for the day in 70 degree weather.
As the days get shorter,
Nights get longer,
And the cider mill is always busy;
1 thing will remain-
Holiday season is upon us.
