I wanna hear a poem
about a puck hitting the ice
I wanna hear a poem
where sticks tap the ice
where teams celebrate goals
Where the skates carve the ice
into a picture of geometric shapes and curves.
I wanna hear a poem
where the sound of a slapshot
Can make a kids muscles tighten.
Where how fast you can run
and how much you can lift
doesn't matter
I wanna hear a poem where blood freezes to the ice
I wanna hear a poem.
