Leaves are changing, fall is in the air
Footsteps fall softly across the foder
Stop - listen
A head pokes out from the leaves
A deer seeking, sniffing
Danger is not sensed
He creeps out, cautious
The hunter swivels
Eyes peering, seeking
Movement, slow and calculated
The deer stops, ears peaked and swiveled
Nose up in air
Sniffing, sniffing
Hunter freezes
Eyes fixated, locked in
The staring match begins
One blink
The hunter is done
