Just as I am about to break,

The tape falls from the skies.

Just as I am about to run,

The branches grip my arms and waist

“Stay here, with us” They whisper,

And they prove to me that this life is already getting better.

They prove that as the bird calls, the Earth provides.

They show me how one person, one action, one thought, can change everything.

The healing wound itches and my nails are too long not to scratch it open.

But every time I do, the first aid kit is out, sitting on the counter when I walk in the room.

The bandages wrap themselves around my scarred arms,

Instantly healing the ghost of the wounds that once resided there.

Just as I lose faith,

The rose petals fall neatly at my feet,

In a gentle layer,

With their sweet aroma and soft edges.

Just in time,

My soul will heal,

Leaving behind the questions I asked myself,

And the thoughts that scraped my mind leaving a harsh residue.

I never want to use the word perfect,

Mostly because I believe there is no such thing.

But my god,

If Her timing isn’t perfect,

I don’t know what is.
