To The Gals I've Seen Before

An instant like no other.
My eyes meet you and couldn't turn away.
I had been overwhelmed by the soul and spirit of emotions and hopes.
I thought it was then and there my heart would burst.
For you would have been my first.
But alas you were just another one on the pile of lost dreams.
Friends after friends depart from my story
and I attempt to forget the lack of glory.
And now I live with the lost hope
that it will be nothing more than a lost lyric
from the song "To All The Girls I've Loved Before."
