Night Terror
My worries from the day
My slumber is where they stay.
Mother, daughter huddle together
Walls crack and creek from weather.
Boots slither their way inside
Into our lives they pried.
One takes mother, one takes daughter
Mother’s blood runs down like water.
Quick hurry under the bed
Riffle there is now ahead.
Laughter rises for daughter doesn't know
A gun is useless without ammo.
Stuck and backed up into a corner
Remember, it's only a night terror.
