Crisp, chilly air,

a gentle breeze,

Guiding the rich, vibrant leaves,

Carpets of crimson left behind

From their lazy journey, so undefined

Ripe orange pumpkins

spread across a field,

collected in a bountiful yield.

An abundant harvest finally done,

delicious crops for everyone.

Warm apple pie,

A delightful scent,

Fills the kitchen for the main event,

The table stored with treats galore,

A scrumptious feast that all adore.

This is the time I love the most

The auburn forests, thanksgiving roasts

Trees dance, wispy winds sing,

As we receive the beauty Autumn brings.

The author's comments:

I am a young student writer, 15 years old, in search of publication for my work. In this poem, I channeled my excitement and anticipation for the coming of autumn into my work. Autumn is my favorite season, I am enamored with the beauty and simplicity of this time of year. My goal with this piece was to make my infatuation with the season clear. Thank you for the opportunity.
