Breaking not Broken
Sometimes I lie in bed
Staring at the ceiling
Watching the fan blades turn.
And thats when I begin to think
About the test in Geometry tomorrow
Or about whatever’s going on in theater
And then my mind travels to a whole different world
One where I don’t want to be.
A world where no one seems to care
And the only thing I can do is a cry.
Tears begin to stream down my face and I can’t stop them.
I shake I tremble I try to think of something else of someone else
My phone buzzes
I grasp it on my hand scared to read the message
My fingers tremble as I type in my password
I look at the message and everything melts away.
“I miss you too.”
A smile spreads across my tear stained face.
Although I’m breaking I’m not broken yet
