You told me I'm smart.
You told me I'm wanted.
You fed me lies
And led me to think I was a somebody
When I'm a nobody.
Why would you give me hope?
Why would you lift me higher
just so I crash harder
when I fall back on the ground?

There are days when I'm confident in myself, and there are days when my insecurities dominate my mind. This poem is about my insecurities detesting my confidence, because building up confidence only leaves more to be broken.
