Color
Yellow soap stains the bowl which drips
Red. A girl in
Ginger curled pigtails and a
Pink dress looks into the
Blue bowl and thinks that it is paint. She dips her
Apricot finger into the
Red and smears it onto the
White walls.
Red cracks under her
Peach nails and spreads onto the
Green curtains. She paints a
Red doll and grabs her markers to give it a
Purple dress. Her palms are coated
Red.
Grey lights spot a young mother who struggles. She feels her tangled
Grey hair and she feels his sharp
Grey nails clutching her delicate
Grey neck. She sees her
Grey reflection in the mirror and she remembers the
Grey pain that cascaded down her body for his
Grey smile. Her
Grey hands clasp around her stomach to make sure nothing
Grey is left there. His
Grey body blurs into the
Grey air. She takes her
Grey knife to relieve what she cannot relive.
Grey drips into a soap stained bowl.

This piece was inspired by perspectives: I really wanted to convey how innocence can be lost after such a detrimental event. I also aimed to try and bring an important issue into the spotlight.
