Let us dream

For it's all we have left,

when empty words shatter

except those that disconsolate

And the masks we wear

they fall in mid-scene

Strangers now know me

They've seen all there was to see

Naked feelings, the shivering breeze

Their laugh's breath cutting my skin.

Glances and stares,

I fear what they might see.

There we have broken,

you may think

There

under the light of shame, of grief

But the tears that fall

can leave no scar

And the weak knees I have

can still take me so far

For under this white dress stained with misery

- and ripped apart

I still have one thing no one else can bogart

I still have one thing

nobody else can have but me

I am still a dreamer and I still have a dream.

This poem is about how nothing in the world can take away your dignity if you still hold on to your dream and remind yourself why you want it, despite how many times you fall or how many times they bring you down. Hopefully it will speak for itself :)
