who cares? life happens with or without you anyway.

This is the life

writing about anger

singing about strife

Why do I feel like when Columbus was sailing

back at his home his economy wasn’t failing

They say it is all our fault

Generation Z and our “default”

sitting, playing, texting, talking on our phones

talkin’ with strangers

discussing violence and not just sticks and stones

But really, you can’t blame us

simply because we got instagram when we were 12

if my memory is serving me correctly

we didn’t raise ourselves

Look at the bigger picture

stop handing us all this stricture

we may have done some wrongs

listening to rap music instead of religious songs

but look at who taught us all

who gave us the ride to the mall

who put us in public schools

schools that taught us how to brawl

It can’t be all on us

we didn’t choose the life you forced on us

It was at that school I started to cuss

At home I’d be mad and you would let me fuss

But now,

I robbed the bank

I practiced my shooting on the fish tank

I’m sorry but my newest crimes

sell out at the highest rank

I bombed a nightclub

I exchanged fishtanks for little bear cubs

I stole the Mona Lisa out of the Museum or Art

I can’t even drive

but I’m driving the world apart

I was talking with one of my mother’s friends and she had a lot to say about this generation, Millienials and Gen-Z. I couldn’t help but hear some faults in her arguments and i decided to write about it.
