In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

A plea, a cry
To take the pain away
A breath, a try
To rectify mistakes

The heart yearns to go back
Rewind the hands of time
The mind knows we lack
The ability to change, but a dime

One more chance is all I seek
But with more opportunities, the more you need

Just one more time
Just one more occasion
mistakes are endless its a neverending tribulation

Regrets fill your thoughts
Tears fill your eyes
Stress fills the body
And the heart breaks in due time

Wishes to do this
Wishes to do that
A Wish in the fountain
A Wish in a well

A supplication for a better future
A prayer for one more day
A cry for a little reprieve
From the sorrows that come my way

Life gets harder
Beautiful moments rare
Time escapes us
No love no more care

Fading affection
Relentless thoughts
Withering emotions
Mindless falls

Regrets are too many
Regrets overpowering
Regrets of how we lived
Regrets of how we're living

Regrets everywhere
In everything we do
In every action , in every reaction too

Regrets for all I've done
Regrets for what I didn't do
Regrets infinite and countless
Regrets that can't be undone

How I yearn for one more chance
A do-over if I may
An opening to change my life
Live a life with no regrets

My age is young
But my regrets are old
My pleas a constant
To the being above all

The author's comments:

Everybody has regrets, nearly everyone kneels down to pray. What else can we do but beg and plead? Be the best that we can be. This is nothing more than a heart's plea.
