Holding a secret
Fragile and stained
Something hidden, something pained
A box, a lock, a closing door
A glance, a whisper or something more
A hiss, a hush, a treasure locked away
A fever, an impulse, fading to grey
Holding a secret
Deep and dark
A rose blooms dead, the twilight stark
Something lost, not to be found
The guilt, the innocence, carefully drowned
A single beat of a distant heart
A flame in the ocean, ablaze from the start
Holding a secret
Twisted and warped, to take to the grave
