the moon, she is a woman
and the earth, he is her man
she revolves around him day and night
for that was God's plan
the worry on her face
and the kindness hidden behind
has long been a companion
through horrid, endless nights
an old and glorious friend
to an infinite, shattered souls
a light in eternal darkness
for travelers on the road
she brings familiarity
and thoughts of home
her beauty so legendary
since times of old
an ideal woman and a good-hearted being
she watches over us, no regrets
while we eat her husband through
