Imprisoned
I wonder and ponder
 I wait and debate
 I strive to work harder
 with each passing day
 troublesome horrors shadow my footsteps
 the mysteries of the dark
 in the bright glorious day
no place to hide, no tears to cry
my screams seem to die, before they escape
 the gloom, it scares me
yet the light is no better
 fear lurks in every corner
 i can trust no other
 my own judgement falls short
and i sleep every night with a new sense of loss
 to feel safe and warm
to be at peace one day
to ride on the clouds of imagination again
alas, sweet days of innocence are gone
 and so i write
a prisoner of my own thoughts
