I did go astray upon the morning
high above what was lost,

me, such as a mighty albatross.

a creature I did find.

Most certainly a false gain,

before I came; scorned by the potent sun so high.

Finally I did go astray upon the night
high above what was lost,
just to find something that can carry
me, such as anything but an earthy albatross.

Most certainly my faith was strained,
when the third creature, I did find.
Though I should fear not; he had found my pain
before I came, ready to carry me away across the sky.
