The Spider Dances in the Sky
The spider dances in the sky

 on self-made silver strings.

 Electric tangles kiss the air

 as she effortlessly swings.

 Dewdrops ornament his home

 with sparkling crystal glow.

Starlight shatters and sprays dust on

 the glittering chateau.

She waits in a cocoon of stars

 and dazzles in her veil.

The spiraling pattern draws her prey,

 a constellation jail.

A buzzing fly stops by in awe,

 with beauty mesmerized.

His instincts tell him to approach,

 his senses paralyzed.

He’s caught in sticky prison walls,

 vibrating desperate pleas.

He sticks the more he struggles

and the web holds him with ease.

 The spider climbs delicately

 on slender legs of gray.

Delivers him the kiss of death,

 as he slowly fades away.

The fly leaves on a shooting star,

 his buzzing fades to black.

The spider buries him in silk,

then waits for her next snack.

 Another victim has to die.

The spider dances in the sky.
