Dances Through Skies

Forever, the whisper he’ll say as she leaves
Together, the promise she breaks as she flees
He’ll chase her, the tears fall, no one will replace
Finally, the freedom, a smile on her face
Forgiveness, he’ll find it, but a moment too late
Loneliness, not regret, she will find as her fate
He tells her he’s changed, but she won’t hear his voice
He’ll haunt her forever, the ghost of her choice
New days bring new sunlight; oh she prays it will last
Memories only, his face buried in the past
He’ll come to know, her only hope was goodbye
She whispers, “I’m sorry” as she dances through skies
