Gaps within a bridge

Eating the hidden unknown that lies within

A book once left ajar, slammed shut

It’s story being dismissed

A flower

It’s petals gently brush the sharp, rigid, breeze

Now teetering in pain

With secrets that engulf

No bloom

No blow

No flowers left to grow

Waters so deep

Yet so frozen in place

Romantics with wants to grow

But nowhere to express their tender hearted pleads

Bursts of passion, isolated, left to wither

Their love once so alive, now leaving an empty hole

No longer pumping the heart belonging to the love forbidden soul

The author's comments:

This piece can tell many stories from the way that you view it. It talks about not being able to get the love one feels that they deserve. Maybe because it was stripped away from them, or it was simply out of reach. The piece touches on the idea that one wants things they do not have or cannot have which leaves people looking for a way to fill that space in their heart. A space in their heart which can never be perfectly filled.
