It all started with series of barks

From my dog towards the window

Crying like surrounded by sharks

My dog barks like he won bingo

Out the window I can't help but notice

A yellow-orange cat

The cat has found a huge meal bonus

A bird the size of a bat

I run at the speed of trains

And scare the cat away

And all in front of me that remains

Is a small bird the color of gray

It sits there with its eyes sealed

Alive yet still In shock

Because of the dog who made the cat the yield

It will sing another squawk

Context: This poem is about a time when my dog started barking out the window because a bird was being thrown around by a cat. I ran outside and scared the cat away and the bird just sat there in shock. I picked it up and put it in a high tree once and because of my little scrawny dog, that bird will live another day.
