These things happen while not searching;

It can consume one whole.

You knew how to shake me awake

Then dug an endless hole.

I always want to make you smile;

I think you might have known.

Don’t you dare just smile around me;

To more it should be shown.

You said that I make you happy,

But I’m sure she did too.

Now I see the consequences

And don’t know what to do.

These things happen while not searching;

It can consume one whole.

You knew how to shake me awake

Then dug an endless hole.

We let the music speak for us,

But you know she’s my friend.

Our buried thoughts rose from the dead,

But this should really end.

But even after what you did,

I can’t shake the feeling

Your intentions were never poor,

Or is it deceiving?

Oh, are your hand-picked words your masks?

I still don’t think they are.

You rarely let anyone see,

Why me? Where is the bar?

These things happen while not searching;

It can consume one whole.

You knew how to shake me awake

Then dug an endless hole.

Why are we still playing this game?

There will be no winner.

This game without a referee,

Patience never thinner.

Our time has been filled with what-ifs;

Heart and logic at war.

There are creatures down every path,

Which head and heart abhor.

It seems like she may have used you

To simply pass the time.

I swear I would treat you better

If it weren’t for your crime.

Now we reside six feet under;

We were buried alive.

We can pretend, but this should end.

With this, we cannot thrive.

They say we are young and have time,

But time is just man-made.

This is the hour of our goodbye;

I wish I could have stayed.

These things happen while not searching;

It can consume one whole.

You knew how to shake me awake

Then dug an endless hole.
