Insomnia
I live in the deathly silence of the night
Nothing in my little world is still
Savoring the last bit of happiness in me
Offering my sanity to my inner demons
Making my mark in this world has been hard
Never have I ever been more ready to leave this hell
Isolating myself among this darkness
And tonight I shall finally shut my windows… and sleep.

I suffer from insomnia and my experience with it is something I never share with others because it’s personal. This poem dips into my inner feelings on my experience dealing with insomnia. I hope that when people who are also dealing with insomnia come across my poem, they relate and don’t feel alone.
