Snowboarding
The old rusty ski lift chinks and clinks
as it rolls over the unstable cable’s grooves.
In the brisk frigid air, ski’s wack together and
carvings in the snow are quickly created.
The frightened little girl, all bundled up and puffy,
sits there on her teeny-tiny snowboard watching her
big brothers fly off huge snowy jumps.
She waits there contemplating
whether she should take the jump or
ride down the mountain safely.
Her father stands at the bottom of the mountain
with his large 90’s video camera
waiting for his little “rabbit” to “shred the nar” and
even the people on the ski lift watch as they go by.
Finally, she stands up,
pulls her gloves down,
and takes a deep breathe.
she shreds down the mountain at a very high speed,
and heads straight making her own lines in the snow
for the big jump.
She launches off the jump.
Everyone woah’s in shock.
The little girl declines from the air and bites it hard.
She had a face full of snow,
rosey cheeks, and
a fear of big tall jumps.
