Innocence
The clouds are open nice and blue.
The lake is tranquil like you.
I’ll come and pick you up at 2.
We’ll have a lot of fun it's true
And maybe we can get some food.
I never want this day to end.
It will just make me oh so sad.
Maybe we’ll have this day again.
I will be sad when summer ends.
I don’t want work to start again.
I have to make a life that’s new.
On days that are sad and blue
I’ll think of the time I spent with you.

This is my my first try at meter poetry. I tried to have an underlying meaning of growing up and entering the real world. In the peom it just seems as if summer is ending and they're sad that they have to go back to work and reality.
