The first ones to know me 

the ones that know my name

the ones that weep 

after they see me walk away

When I was young 

I began to see

that I had a perfect family

one that was always there for me

My family stood by me

no matter the things I've done

who picked me up when I was down

and told me not to frown

My family always laughs with me

and helps me see the good

my family loves me unconditionally 

more than I thought they could

The monsters that hid under my bed 

and the scary dreams that ran through my head

you always came and tucked me in 

and told me it was alright to rest my head

As the years go by 

memories will fade

but for this new memories will be made

I will love you forever and always
