I have a cat named Marshmallow
Yeah, like the ones you buy at the store
Poofy
Goofy
Bundle of fur
He likes to hop
On my pop
He can run real quick
But sometimes he’s slick
And catches a mice
Waking me up at 5am
The next morning he hopped up on the counter
And knocked off a fan
Onto my computer
Making a dent
In my heart
Just like when I watch Paul Blart
With my pops
Then my cat hops
And he runs around in circles
Chasing his tail like a dog
But no
He’s a cat
That’s fat
And kinda looks like a rat
One day he laid on my mat
But then he got up and sat
On my lap
And took a nap
His body was sprawled out across me like a pool of white paint overflowing
Gluing himself to the floor he rolls over
Looking at me with his evil eyes
I don’t know if I wanna try
To touch him
He might bite me
But I’ll bite back
SPRITS
Water gun goes shoot
Cat goes poof
Running across the the kitchen
Slippin and slidin on the freshly mopped floor
He skids into the door going thump thump thump
Though he too nimble and too thicc
He barrels into the door,
BOOM
He skids further as the door is launched open
His massive figure
Slides to my dad
And BOOM
He knocks over the bowl of meow mix on the floor
Dad gets angry and starts the chase
Thump thump thump
He goes darting to my room like a bullet
Cowering under the bed
But that ain’t stopping dad
Even though he has back problems
He gets down on that floor
With the water gun in hand
And aims
Shots fired
Dad has won
Or so he thought
Marsh leaps out from under the bed
Latching onto his arm, the cat goes
Bite
Bite
Bite
He attack
Dad draws back and Marsh hops onto my bed securing his territory
He has won
Dad has been defeated
And so the moral of this story is that
Don’t give up, even when you feel defeated

I was inspired by my cats sense of goofiness, and how he makes me both annoyed and happy. I hope people will see how much pets can light up people's worlds and bring a sense of joy into the home.
