The Escape
I can’t do it
Not one more time
I can’t go in there,
And act like I am fine
I can’t wear that smile
It’s getting kind of old
It’s worn down and tired
The story has been told
The story of a girl
Who wanted to belong
She thought she had a shot
She was more than wrong
They looked her up and down
Covered her with insults
She kept that smile on her face
To them, she was a fault
Then she saw the answer
It was always clear
Nobody would miss her
She had nothing to fear
She took the bullet in her hand
Finally breaking free
This was her escape
From all reality
