The Broken Machine
“Actions speak louder than words”
They always say,
Yet never do.
Leaving the people blue
When change gets called upon.
The speeches and rallies promise
something new
Yet people, much later, will rue.
When accountability must prevail,
They hide behind their cushy offices like turtles in a shell
Leaving the people without a new chance,
In their back, a lance.
So comes the day when their reign ends,
And the people must make a decision.
We know of lies and tricks,
But always we get kicked
To the curb where we’re left to rot like rats in the street.
So we must take back our lives
We the people hold power;
The time nears, for our hour.
