Goodbye

First I'll tell you what I wanted and then I'll tell you what really happened.
All I wanted was to say goodbye.
What happened that day, was the death of the love of my life.
She was going her own way, and I was doing the same.
It was when I was walking away that I felt her die.
I heard her start to sob and cry.
I remembered our rainy days together,
And the times when we felt like it would last forever.
I stopped to think about fixing it all,
But all I could do was walk.
