Then and Now
Then there wasn’t man, then destructive beast
Treating the world like their own personal feast
Now they run the world and love was forced to flee
So focused on greed, this is not how things were meant to be
Then there was life, vast fields of green
The air was pure, water fresh and clean
Now cities take up this once beautiful place
Polluting the environment with industrial waste
Then there was balance, animals living together
Yet the world was sturdy even in the toughest of weather
Now we face a storm of a different kind
That harmony of life has begun to unwind

I thought about what it would feel like if I was able to breath the air from centuries ago before industrial smog ruined the atmosphere.
