Learning to Paint the Portrait
Desire weaves a beautiful lace of fire
a beauty of which we never tire.
Wishes leave us to have faith in the power of mystical orbs
an understanding our comprehension will never truly absorb.
Hope entices us to depend on outside forces
which ill fated waiting gives us no alternative courses.
Need weighs more on the heart than want
an unruly affirmation, which life cruelly taunts.
Honesty relies on our ability to trust-
such delicacy- a single lie can rust.

 Between what we are
and what admired characteristic qualities say we should be-
how easy it is to lose yourself in the attempt to acquire
all the attributes life proclaims to be the central dogma for honorable society.

There is a reason for the subtle uniqueness
of the intricacies of our minds.
Each admirable quality the next person possesses
adds a swatch of color to the palate-
not one person can paint the portrait
 of honorable virtues
 by oneself.
