Dearest Dollie,
fighting, falling never helps.
things. fall. apart.

I gave it time,
Miss Dollie, I did.
the pieces fly
and drown in wind.
the sand cools.
the sun dies.
i loved you.
i did try.

Miss Dollie, dearest,
the thing I fearest most
came true.
Dollie dearest,
you came nearest
to my heart;
it fell apart.
and in the sea where you met me,
I lost my way.
my mind collides
and hides behind
your words as you
say (untrue),
"I love you."

Oh dearest Dollie;
flower-

power,
r a i n d r o p s
drizzle- drazzle,
bag of Razzles,
going F A R T H E R,
pack of starbursts,
running faster,
symbols clatter.
running on sugar,
running on sugar.

we moved, my Dollie,
too fast to morrow,
take some mollie,
drown my sorrow.

Dollie dearest,
you came nearest
to my heart;
it fell apart.
and in the sea where you met me,
I lost my way,
running on sugar.

dearest Dollie,
you're my folly.
dearest Dollie,
you're my folly.

The author's comments:
this is sort of a surreal poem about the ties of a relationship gone wrong and its dream-like aftermath, experienced through temporary fixes.
