Restless Tides
Cast your line. Close your eyes.
At night, the ocean can always surprise.
Sitting on the bench patiently—waiting,
While the other men quietly do their baiting.
The hush of the ocean, the crash of the waves.
The men waiting silently over their graves.
The dock lazily rested on the water,
Little did it know about the oncoming slaughter.
Unbeknownst to the men above, they continued to cast
Until it overcame them--very fast.
The hush of the ocean, the crash of the waves,
The men waiting silently over their graves.
Watch closely now. The Dark can be deceiving.
In one motion, It can leave many bereaving.
What overcame these men is difficult to tell,
As the waves carried them down to where It dwelled.
The hush of the ocean, the crash of the waves.
The men, no longer waiting silently over their graves.
