Parasite In Us All
Procrastination is a slimy parasite
sitting in the dark abyss inside of you.
Waiting for any spec of hope, drive, or care
and feasting on it before it reaches your soul.
Allowing only forgetfulness, carelessness, and laziness
to surpass its interminable grip.
Forever scavenging for any aspirations of success
and locking them away.
Eventually the parasite will empty its host
of all ambitions,
and move on to its next victim.
Leaving behind only an empty shell.
An empty shell that is stuck
in a boring loop,
at a dead end job,
with the only one thing left inside.
Regret.
