The Symphony
If you flip a person inside out, you won’t see blood and bones.
Instead you’ll find the remnants of time from their childhood homes.
Ex lovers and forgotten friends sit benign in their blood,
Waiting to disappear through tears in a messy flood.
Hope lies behind the eyes and persistence with the lungs.
Lips wait to sing a story, one which has not yet been sung.
If you flip a person inside out, you won’t find flesh and veins.
You’ll discover their true character hidden within secrets and throbbing pains.
In their hearts lies music, a symphony orchestra playing a light tune.
If you stay willing and by their side, maybe among the violins you’ll find yourself there soon.
