The Silent Night
Enclosed in the gloom of Night, I searched,
Looking all around,
For once last glimpse of her, my love,
But even one glance was nowhere to be found.
Alone I stood,
Shrouded in darkness, with nothing in sight,
Reaching towards happiness,
Searching for the light.
I said to the Night,
“Happiness has abandoned me
Leaving me with nothing but despair,
What have I done to cause this pain?
Why am I in this nightmare?”
I said to the Night,
“Where can I seek solace?
When all I know is gone,
Where must I go to find a new dawn?”
The Night was silent, and
there I stood,
Shrouded in darkness, with nothing in sight,
Reaching towards happiness,
Searching for the light.
