I am the shadow of your dreams
Darkest corners of the mind
Source of your deception
I am in all of mankind
Angel of darkness
Demon of light
Call me whatever
I am the eternal plight
You try to ignore me,
but I will never go away
For you are the victim
Your mind is my prey
I admit to corrupting you
Keeping your soul in a cage
The heart is my puppet
Your body my stage
Created from the heart
Forged from the soul
I am the malevolence
You can't control

Wrote this because I believe everyone is capable of doing wrong. Most of the time, it's easier to do wrong instead of doing right. We as humans go into mental battles because these internal conflicts will wage a war during certain situations. If you strongly relate to this and just realized it, remember you aren't alone. You're not evil, everyone can be a little dark. However, the darkness in our hearts is equally balanced out by our light. Some people tap into one part more than the other.
