Another Ballet Problem
I was a skeleton sitting tight in the lobby,
When I rose my leg felt super wobbly
Ms. Dawnell demands “Natalia come come,
Today you will dance the sugar plumb!”
I waddle to the front like a clown,
On my face I have a slight frown.
The prickly feeling refused to die down,
I knew Ms. Dawnell would be let down.
I dance as the music begins, detecting a trickle,
My leg was numb, oh so prickly.
My foot went crazy, it decided to sickle!
This feeling was a not a splendid feeling, it was a painful tickly.
I bowl over onto my bum,
Ms. Dawnell sternly said “What have you done?”
“This is not the choreography,
You messed it up do you see?
If you can’t dance the Sugar Plumb Fairy,
Who else could you be?”
“Ms. Dawnell I stomped, I clomped,
It has died down,
This time I will not dance like a clown.
I will be a fairy flying with grace,
Keeping up with the rhythms pace.”
Ms. Dawnell gave me a simple nod,
“Carry on”
I danced the Sugar Plumb,
Without my foot feeling numb.
That time I did not land on my bum.
I was then ready for performance to come.
