Memories
Back to the days,
When a nap in class
Was encouraged.
Back to the days,
When homework
Was practicing your ABC’s.
Back to the days,
When coloring
Outside the lines
Was art.
Back to the days,
When a nightlight
Protected you
from the monster
Under your bed.
Back to the days,
When the Tooth Fairy
Came while you slept
To sneak a dollar
under your pillow.
Back to the days,
When Santa Claus
Came through the front door.
Back to the days,
When talking
Was face to face.
Back to the days,
When goodbyes
Weren’t forever.
Back to the days,
When being a kid
wasn't an option.
Back to the days,
When memories
Were only
The beginning.

My piece was inspired by all the memories I have made since I was young. I want people to remeber the amazing memories they have made, aslo to show them never to waste time and to cherish everymoment they have, because one day they will look back on all the memories they have made and share them with loved ones.
