My Cap
I love my cap
It’s been through thick and thin
Through rainy practices
Through early mornings
It’s yellow
With a little smirk
Like it’s challenging you
Like you’ve accepted its challenge
I’ve had it for years
Since I was 11 if I’m correct
That's a long time
To have a cap
I’m retiring from swimming though
Gotta move on from this chapter in my life
Gotta leave my smiley friend behind
But I want my cap to know that I’ll always love it.
