Rising and standing with grace
She is a dress sewn with lace
A silk dress gleaming belief
The type of confidence known well to a chief

Unveiling pride in her eyes
She is a fierceness the dress implies
Elegant movements spread across
Like fragile petals flower girls’ toss

Swirling round like a carousel
She is a secret only the dress can tell
A silk gown blossoming at prom
Feeling bewildered but staying calm

The dress has an exquisite glow
Pastel roses come and go
Like water drops she is swift
Awaking surprises like a gift

Gliding so smoothly like the dress
She is a ballerina born to impress
Independent movements resembling the wind
Dancing delicately on a line that’s thinned…

I was inspired to write this poem by seening how elegant ballerinas move which sparked my memories to another thing that expresses the same type of grace: a beautiful silk dress.
