Apocalypse
Sooner or later, it all comes crumbling down
Ancient Vengeance coming back around
Stabbed by the blade of arrogance,
Forever cursed to scar you hence
Ancient protectors, long since dead,
Cannot stop them from taking your head
Cities fall, and people too
To the unnamed wrath that’s hunting you
Men, women and children alike,
All will fall to their fearful might
But if a hero should arise,
Then no more will we hear the cries
Of terror or sorrow or mortal fear,
For we will know, our victory will be near
But if that hero shall die,
Our victory will slip right by
Sand turned to glass,
Genocide come to pass
Blood staining the ground,
Corpses making no sound
And at the end, a solar eclipse
To mark the final day of the apocalypse

This poem is a what you call a couplet that started out as just another Reading and Writing project, as I'm sure we've all done at one point or another, but soon morphed into something I'm proud of and want to share. Like if you enjoy reading it and be sure to check out my shape poem coming up soon!
