Why was 6 afraid of 7?
Was it because Seven was afraid,
of Eleven who threatened to make it pay?
Or was it because Seven had a grudge against 8
Who was always late?
Or because it hated nine
who always wasted Seven's time?
Seven had a reason to be jealous of Six,
as it had stolen the very thing that made Seven click.
Her name was Lucy,
and rumor on the number line was that she was fine as a dime.
She was third from number one
but when she met Six she was sure she had won.
The sum of their parts equaled nine,
which in the number world was the perfect place in time.
So you see Seven had a tough life,
for all he wanted was a decent wife.
He tried to hookup with a couple of numbers to make his own version of nine,
so he took them for some food and wine.
Number Two turned out to be a dude,
while one squared tried for a threesome at noon.
The decimals had some appeal,
but nothing with them ever felt real.
To Seven the fear grew over time,
that he would never amount to a nine.
Seven grew so desperate he kidnapped Three,
and in jealousy killed Six's little bee.
Perhaps that is why Six is afraid of Seven,
because Seven sent his love to heaven.

I was in biology class when I got sudden inspiration to write a little(though i guess not so) poem about the struggle of numbers to find true love. Always loved reading but never got into poetry. I hope to hear feedback about it or new unexpected topics people want me to write about!! I'd love to recieve ideas about humourous poems to write next!
